About Whatglows
What is Whatglows?
Whatglows is a design studio driven by curiosity. We create lighting and illuminated objects inspired by the world around us, turning observations, ideas, and experiments into products that people can live with and enjoy.
What inspires your products?
Inspiration can come from almost anywhere: natural forms, textures, everyday objects, manufacturing processes, or simple questions that lead us down unexpected paths. Every product starts with curiosity and develops through exploration rather than trends.
What makes Whatglows different?
Whatglows is driven by curiosity rather than categories or trends. Coming from a background of building and making, we approach design through experimentation, engineering, and hands-on problem solving. This perspective often leads to products that might not emerge from a conventional design process.

What materials are used in Whatglows products?

Why do some products use 3D printed components?
3D printing allows us to create forms, textures, and details that would be difficult or impractical to produce using traditional manufacturing methods alone. It is one of many tools we use when it helps achieve the desired result.
Are your products made in small batches?
Yes. Products are produced in small batches, allowing us to maintain quality, make improvements when needed, and stay closely involved in every stage of production.
Where are Whatglows products designed and made?
Every Whatglows product is made in our workshop in India. Keeping production in-house allows us to experiment, refine, and maintain a close connection to the objects we create.
Light Engine
What is the Whatglows Light Engine?
The Whatglows Light Engine is our integrated lighting system that combines the LEDs, electronics, controls, and power management required to operate the product. It is designed to provide a consistent and intuitive lighting experience across compatible products.
Do all products use the same Light Engine?
Not necessarily. While many products share common technologies and controls, the Light Engine may vary depending on the product's size, function, and lighting requirements.
Do I need to change the Light Engine after a certain period of use?
Under normal operating conditions, the Light Engine is designed to provide years of reliable use without requiring replacement. If service is ever needed, please contact us and we will help determine the best solution.
Can I adjust the brightness and color temperature?
Products equipped with the Whatglows Light Engine allow brightness adjustment and switching between warm and natural white light. Available controls and features may vary by product.
What voltage and plug type are used in Whatglows products?
All Whatglows products operate on 220V and come fitted with a EU plug by default. If international availability is offered, compatible plug types and voltage requirements will be specified on the product page.
Care & Handling
How should I clean my product?
Use a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive moisture, as these may damage certain materials or finishes.
How should I handle the product?
Handle your product with care and place it on a stable surface away from excessive heat, moisture, or impact. When moving it, support the base and structural components rather than applying pressure to delicate parts.
Inventory
What happens if a product is sold out?
Most Whatglows products are restocked regularly. However, some products may be discontinued and therefore not return. If a product is sold out, please check the product page for availability updates or contact us directly.
When is the next restock?
Restocks are done usually every month. Products are made in limited quantities and may sell out before the next scheduled restock.

Orders & Support
Can I modify or cancel an order?

What should I do if my product arrives damaged?

I changed my mind, can I return the product/s?

What happens if my product stops working or becomes damaged over time?
If you experience an issue with your product, contact us with a description of the problem and, if possible, photographs or videos. We will assess the situation and recommend repair, replacement, or servicing options where available.

When will a sold-out product be restocked?
